FAQs
What is your style of photography?
I'd describe my family photography style as a mix of documentary and lifestyle - so a blend of completely candid shots and some with a gentle prompt, e.g. 'walk across the field together,' rather than any awkward posing. My focus is on capturing genuine connections and spontaneous laughter - memories of real adventures you've had together.
The traditional family portrait where everyone is arranged formally and looking at the camera isn't really my style - especially as young children are rarely cooperative with this approach! I also don't ask people to smile for photos - again, real giggles are what I'll be looking for (but equally, all expressions of little faces are just glorious to photograph - even the grumpy ones!)
How do we book?
Just fill out the contact form and I'll be in touch to discuss your requirements and my availability. I take a 30% deposit to book and secure your date. The remaining balance is due once your photographs are ready.
When should we book?
For maternity shoots, I advise getting in touch once you're in your second trimester to pencil in some possible dates for your shoot (aiming for around 28-34 weeks). Nearer the time, I will contact you to check when you'd prefer your session to take place and we can book you in.
For newborn shoots, again we can pencil in potential dates once you're in your third trimester and then agree the session once your baby is born. Some people like to capture their tiny baby in their first week at home and others prefer to wait a few weeks, or even months. It's completely up to you.
For family shoots, you can book whenever works for you! I often have good availability on Thursdays and Fridays but will need a little more notice for weekend dates.
When do we get our final gallery?
I always aim to deliver galleries within 6 weeks of your photography session, however this may be a little longer (up to 8 weeks) during peak season. I will ensure you are kept fully updated as to when you can expect your gallery if there are any delays.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
Do you welcome LGBTQIA+?

Do you support neurodiversity?
Yes, of course. I can tailor the way I work to fit your needs and ensure it is an enjoyable, stress-free experience for you. Please let me know on your contact form if there's anything I need to be aware of and how you'd like me to support you.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes. Being a primary school teacher as well as a photographer, I have a full DBS check.
