People often tell me that they are the 'photo taker' of the family and, as such, they are completely absent from their family photos. They wish they had more 'nice' shots with their loved ones that will help them remember the joy of family life - unposed, genuine moments captured - but instead they are having to settle for unflattering phone pics, often which they've had to ask to be taken - sometimes even restaging a moment because it was missed the first time.

Capture the perfectly imperfect
All too often we put pressure on ourselves to be looking perfect before we can be photographed. So many new parents feel vulnerable during the time when their bodies and lives are changing dramatically, and can worry about if they will even like themselves in photos - sometimes to the point of avoiding being in them completely.
I'm here to remind you that you absolutely can have beautiful photographs (even when you're functioning on very little sleep!) You are amazing and deserving of being celebrated at every stage in your life. The connection, emotion and joy you feel with your loved ones really does shine through in photographs and will be treasured by your children for years to come. I always find it helpful to remember - the photos aren't just for you. They will be treasured by our family members long after we're gone, so we need to make sure we are there to be seen.

FAQ
What is your style of photography?
I'd describe my family photography style as a mix of documentary and lifestyle - this means a blend of completely candid shots and some with loose direction, e.g. 'walk across the field together,' rather than awkward posing. I aim to capture genuine connections and spontaneous laughter - memories of real adventures you've had together.
The traditional family portrait where everyone is arranged formally and looking at the camera isn't really my style - especially as young children are rarely cooperative with this approach. I also don't ask people to smile for photos - again, real giggles are what I'll be looking for (but equally, all expressions of little faces are just glorious to photograph!)
How do we book?
Just fill out the contact form and I'll be in touch to discuss your requirements and my availability. I take a 30% deposit to book and secure your date. The remaining balance is due once your photographs are ready.
When do we get our final gallery?
I always aim to deliver galleries within 6 weeks of your photography session, however this may be a little longer (up to 8 weeks) during peak months. I will ensure you are kept fully updated as to when you can expect your gallery if there are any delays.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
